Charity of the Month: Support Edmonton's Food Bank This October

At Parati Yoga & Wellness, we believe in the power of community and the importance of uplifting those in need. Each month, we dedicate one of our special yoga classes to support a different charity, and this October, we are proud to partner with Edmonton’s Food Bank—an organization that has been a cornerstone in our city, helping families since 1981.


As the holidays approach, the Food Bank’s role becomes even more vital, ensuring families have access to the essentials they need for warm and comforting meals during this festive season. You can be a part of this incredible cause by joining our Charity Flow class or donating food or funds directly.


Charity Class Event Details

Date: October 20th, 2024

Time: 9:00 AM

Location: Parati Yoga & Wellness

Minimum Donation: 5 non-perishable food items


In this 60-minute class, we will flow through a gentle yoga sequence, blending mindful movement and breathwork suitable for all levels. It’s the perfect opportunity to nurture your body while also giving back to those who need it most. 100% of the donations will go to Edmonton’s Food Bank, and your generosity will make a huge difference, especially with the holiday season right around the corner.



What Does Edmonton's Food Bank Need Most?

While any non-perishable item is greatly appreciated, here are some of the most-needed items that help provide balanced and nutritious meals:

  • Beans without Pork

  • Canned Fish or Meat

  • Peanut Butter

  • Baby Formula

  • Healthy School Snacks (100% fruit juice, granola bars, fruit cups)

  • Soup

  • Canned Fruit and Vegetables

  • Pasta or Pasta Sauce


And with the holidays approaching, consider adding some festive favorites to your donation:

  • Stuffing

  • Cranberry Sauce

  • Boxed Potatoes

  • Gravy

  • Cake Mixes


These donations will help families prepare holiday meals that bring comfort and joy, even during challenging times.


Monetary Donations Welcome

If you prefer to donate funds instead of food, we’re accepting monetary donations on behalf of Edmonton's Food Bank. Every dollar goes a long way in helping the Food Bank purchase fresh and essential items for those in need. No donation is too small, and every bit helps!


You can email transfer your donation to hello@paratiwellness.com with the comment DONATION to FOOD BANK to contribute.


Can’t Make the Class? Drop Off Your Donations!

Even if you’re unable to attend the Charity Flow class, you can still contribute! Drop by Parati Yoga & Wellness with your food or monetary donations, and we’ll ensure they reach the Food Bank. Your contribution will make a lasting impact on families in our community.
